18 things to do this summer for j-students/others

From freelancer Mark Coughlin, via Jeff Jarvis' Twitter post, 18 things journalism students, and perhaps some of their elders, should consider doing this summer: http://tinyurl.com/oj682d

I'm doing at least one of them, learning the blogging thang, right now.

Thanks for posting this. Lots of non-profits could use the help of j-students with capturing stories, writing newsletters, news releases, and even starting blogs. I hear many are a little overrun right now with "elbow grease" volunteers following all of the encouragement since the election and inauguration to get involved, BUT j-students could really make a difference by helping non-profits to tell their story. Many non-profits have had to cut staff, as well. Betsy Stone
